Yin Education Foundation Donates Thousands of Surgical Masks to Local Hospitals

Comprising four generations of Yin Family members across the country, the Yin Education Foundation has coordinated and funded the procurement and distribution of thousands of desperately needed surgical masks to several hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dangerous shortages of protective equipment needed for medical staff treating Covid-19 patients are the most serious supply chain symptom of the coronavirus.  Many US hospitals are relying on public donations of face masks to support their medical teams on the front line.

"Phones are ringing and hundreds of emails are being sent back and forth to reach suppliers in China," says Paul Yin, a first generation member of the Yin Education Foundation. "Our family members are contacting people overseas to help us here in America."

"This past week, we distributed 5,000 surgical face masks total to five different hospitals in Northern California  - Washington Hospital in Fremont, Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco, Sutter Davis Hospital, Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, and NorthBay Hospital in Fairfield," shares Henry Yin, Paul Yin’s brother and a leader in the foundation.

As we all prepare for the next wave of this pandemic, we know it won't be only large corporations and governmental agencies coming to our aid - we must all pitch in.   Individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations will continue to rise to the challenge to support our medical providers on the front line and in great need of protective gear.

"We are committed to doing what we can to make a positive difference," shares CC Yin, local McDonald's business owner and senior leader in the Foundation.  "We are already planning ahead to purchase and donate more masks in the future because we know this will be a long battle.  Thousands of more masks are being shipped here in the coming weeks.  We don't plan on stopping our efforts anytime soon."
